What AI can — and cannot — do for tender review
Silver Oak Ventures insights
Large tender packs often contain specifications, schedules, contracts, forms and addenda. AI-assisted tooling can make them easier to navigate, but it should be treated as support rather than a final authority.
Where AI can help
Document summarisation, extraction of key dates, identification of mandatory items, first-pass comparisons and drafting clarification questions are promising applications.
Where people remain essential
Eligibility, technical compliance, contractual interpretation and final submissions require review by accountable professionals against the original source documents. Generated answers may omit details or misinterpret context.
A safer workflow
Retain original document references, flag uncertainty, track human approval and check addenda or revisions that could change an earlier conclusion.
The most useful AI workspace should make human judgement more effective, not less visible.
